Begin with what matters
Before choosing a new scheme, look at what the home already offers. Some elements hold architectural value; others matter because they hold your memories. Both deserve a place in the conversation.
Make decisions with purpose
Keeping everything can prevent a room from working. Replacing everything can lose the character that made it special. A useful starting point is to ask what serves your life now, what could be adapted and what would be better rehomed.
A new chapter can be substantial
A complete renovation can still be considered. Planning for reuse, salvage or responsible rehoming makes the question of what happens next part of the design process.
