Buildings often give us a strong framework of straight lines. A curve can soften that rhythm: in a plaster reveal, a winding stair or a ceramic vessel.
Shape should have a reason
The question is how a form serves the space. Does it ease movement, soften an edge or connect to something already present? A curved detail has more meaning when it belongs to the room.
The reveal as a design opportunity
At the chaff house, deeper window openings were finished with curved plaster. The result connects a practical change in wall depth with the softer character of the interior.
